What is a boiler breakdown?
A boiler breakdown is when your boiler doesn't provide you with adequate heating or hot water. In some cases it may be leaking or flashing a fault code on the display unit.
Why do I need a boiler repair?
A boiler repair is designed to ensure your boiler is working well and delivering the desired heating output within your home.

A boiler repair also ensures your system is working safely and is not going to cause any harm to other appliances, your home or anyone living in it.
    How long does a boiler repair take to complete?
    Boiler repairs can vary in time depending on the issue. If the boiler can be repaired with no parts required this can often be completed in around 30 minutes.

    If parts are required we would diagnose the issue on the first visit, order any required parts and return to repair the boiler. This can take between 30min - 2hours depending on if the boiler needs draining and if there is good access around the boiler.
    Who should undertake a boiler repair?
    Any gas boiler being repaired needs to be completed by a Gas Safe registered engineer. These can be found on the Gas Safe register website. All gas engineers have been trained and inspected and carry out regular tests to keep up with current regulation in order to keep their registration.
    What sort of disruption does a boiler repair cause?
    If the repair can be carried out with either no parts or the ones we carry on our vans, a repair can cause very little disruption.

    However, in the case that a part needs to be ordered, there may be a time delay while the part arrives. However, in this case, we will do our best to source the part locally and as quickly as possible and work with you to arrange a convenient time to return to complete the work.
    How much will a boiler repair cost?
    The cost of a boiler repair can vary depending on the extent of the fault or damage. You can expect to pay anything from £65 if no parts are required. For other minor repairs such as a replacement fan, gas valve or printed circuit board, the price could range between £150 - 400.

    It is very difficult to be more precise than this because the price depends on a number of variables, including the type and age of your boiler and the cause of the fault.

    Older boilers, for example, can be expensive and timely to repair due to the reduced supply and higher cost of parts.

    We would recommend if your boiler is over 10 years old and the repair costs exceed £300, a replacement boiler may be a better option.
